Nope- now I have the original carbs fitted with the original distributor (at least they are the ones that came with the car and have suitable part numbers) I have it set to 7.5 deg at idle with no vac as per instructions and it maxes out at 30 something degress so I think its OK. It is the vac advance whilst stationary that is worrying me. Do the vacuum cans fail by getting too soft? > > I disconnected the vac and ran the car on a longish run this weekend and it > > ran better than before. Yep that was me and I'm still having troubles :-( Mark ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
