Next time you change the oil, save yourself some money and drop back to 20W-40 or straight SAE 30 or 40. Didn't the craft shop tach also have a dwell scale? That's a reasonably important thing to check, but you can do a fair job with a feeler gauge as long as the points are new or still smooth.
