I suspect what you're seeing is Male Answer Syndrome. They don't really know 
this, but they're making up a story to satisfy the customer. The important part 
is that a breakin period and special service is probably NOT necessary, but I'd 
bet that this is more likely due to better manufacturing proceedures. I doubt 
if every engine is run for any significant amount of time there.
