Re: [T3] Breaking in a rebuilt

russ,
mayby i wouldnt bother breaking in a cam if i was using an old stock
cam and lifters but with quality not what it was it is the safe way forward
.
Cams have gone flat during this procedure and lifters have self
destructed in recent years now if this happens during a static procedure
then your engines not under load and the damage can be minimised if your
driving the car then it could all be a different story .
if you dont want to break your cam in statically dont !!! if your happy
that its a needless waste of time!!!
no disrespect to you russ but you have to move with the times and these
times general concensus is to break in static first .

ever had a good look at the oil on the very first oil change on a newly
rebuilt engine? theres allways some particals in there allways . you want to
leave that in there to flow around scoring its way past your bearings for
any amount of time feel free or put your engine under load on the road with
all those initial wear in particals in there go ahead. ill stick with the
way some of the most respected engine builders in the world do business with
performance engines thank you.
static break in drop oil do adjustments
drive car 100m drop oil adjust
drive car 500m drop oil adjust
drive car 1000m drop oil adjust
drive car 1500m drop oil adjust
go to regular service schedual change over to synthetic oil as prefered or
not!
