Maybe that was just > for Porsche engines > though? Actually, when putting my engine back together, I read that as well from numerous locations. I believe it was the Wilson book that suggested 4000rpm or thereabouts... What I gathered from various sources was that you're supposed to do that high rev, change the oil, take it out for a drive where you put it in a set gear and accelerate with 3/4 throttle, then let off to make it as if you were going down a hill in a low gear so that the other side of the rings gets worked, and do that a few times, then change the oil again. At least that's what I did and it seemed to be good up until I started having electrical problems. :) > I guess what I should do is get a second engine and > rebuild that in my own > time to perfection and get this one back together > for now as best I can in > the time I've got (has to be running next week) and > do a swap as soon as the > other is ready and sort this one out properly. That's exactly what I'm doing... I'm hoping this top-end rebuild will carry me well for another year. ===== __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
