(I THINK that alum tag was used in all the years, but others are more > familiar with this than I am.) Intersting, I just looked at the Notch's VIN (3112185256) (engine# U0435106) and also at: http://www.vwtype3.org/info-serial-numbers If I am not mistaken then my car, although he tag has an actual stamped date of 8/71, is a 1969 production?!?! But the motor is a 1970 production. I did read somewhere that here in Australia VWs were a year behind, so if a VW was sold as a 1970 it would have been a 1969 production, or something like that. Anybody hear of that? Any ideas. Petri '71 Notch ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
