But the motor is a 1970 production. Both your VIN and MIN are from about the same time in the 71 model year. Take another look at the serial number chart. The VIN can be more easily understood by breaking it down as follows: 311 2 185,256. The lone 2 stands for the 2nd decade of production; cars before 1970 did not get it.
