The third digit being a 5 clearly indicates that your car is a '65. It is the 75,763 type 3 made in the '65 model year. Production of '65 model year cars started on or about 8/1/64, so it reasonable that it took 3+ months to get to yours. To figure out which model number you have, you need to look on the tag in the trunk where it will be stamped. The VIN is there, too, but that's a separate number. (I THINK that alum tag was used in all the years, but others are more familiar with this than I am.) -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
