I'm really surprised that your 73 has this part. In general I thought 67 was
the last year for this rubber valve, which was the same on types 1, 2, & 3.
Okay, I looked it up and its a 311 115 541, used with dual carbs up to the end
of production. OTOH, the microfilm also says that it was used with 68-71 FI,
which it wasn't....
I suspect this part is still available from various sources, including VW.
