> That's why I want to keep my Jetta III (another Type > 3... hmmmm). In that case I've a Jetta 3 Variant (Tdi), though VW call it a Golf 3 Variant, which is a worthy partner to the original. For enjoyment I choose to drive the real Type 3 Variant since it doesn't scrabble for grip, or exhibit torque-steer, or have irritating electric windows, or power steering that takes away that feel of the road, or a rear screen that gets messed up with road spray within 5 minutes, or 5 gears that always seem to be in the wrong places, though it only does 34 mpg (UK gallon) rather than 50 mpg (Diesel) and is a bit slower (which doesn't really matter).
