I think they interchange, as its the bearing size in the rotors that are 
different.

They are both dual circuit. I believe the 68 is the odd ball one with a 
separate circuit for the warning light. This is a good thing to change out as 
parts for the early ones are very hard to find. You will probably have to 
change the left brake pipe too, as it will now be short.

You could do that, but you must be very careful in your driving as you will 
only have front brakes on the pedal and rears with the hand brake (kinda 
scary).

There is a little rubber plug that surrounds the line and thats keeping the 
fitting from going thru. You can leave the pedal cluster in place, as it 
doesn't need to be removed. The new line will go thru the openings in the 
pan. I use some tape around the end and fitting to keep it in place and dirt 
and debris out. I hope this helps, and I'm sure others will chime in.
