I think this > changeover is way overdue, but solid state is not always a cure-all either. I also recently bought a Bosh electronic VR. It just bolted straight on replacing the old one (which I still have). I still have the rear seat removed until I make a cover for the new VR because the live wires are now on the top not on the side of the VR, I don't want to create an accidental spark. I was told that these VRs are disposable, no need to adjust since they are always accurate, and if they fail, they *just* fail, no gradual failing as the other ones where they start ticking. I have been running my car for two weeks with no problems.
