Hello- > OK, Shad and Brian Schlepp and anyone else that is running 16 or 17" wheels on your Type 3.......... > > What is the offset of the wheels that you are running? Everyone says to watch the offsets, but what is the offset of some these examples of successful application of larger aftermarket wheels? Well, I'm a special case, as much of what I say doesn't apply to anyone else. That's because I have 944 wheel hubs on all four corners, so my track width is different. That said, my rear rims are 16x9 ET70 (70mm offset), and I've added 1/8" of spacers, in effect decreasing the offset to about 67mm. My front rims are 16x7 ET55 (55mm offset), and there are no spacers on there. The rims are from a 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera.
