I think only twice, from 67 to 68 (complete door handle change incorporating
the lock in the handle) and maybe a little change in I think 71-2 , (adding
little finger grips to the trigger). I'm not sure about what year that
happened though.

No, a bug handle is different. Its not deep enough to work on a type3. It
will bolt up and fill the hole, and the seals are the same, but the mechanism
is different. I hope this helps.
