The Fastback has become my wife's primary daily driver since I started riding my bike and train to work, so I feel the need to keep things running extra-nice on the car. During a check-up of the valves, I noticed that after 4,000 miles the valves did not need any adjustment. None of the valves budged at all since the last time I adjusted them. The heads are 30,000 miles old now. After an oil change and tire rotation, I added grease to the front axle. While under there, I noticed the left front outer tie rod end was split. I guess I better go get a new one. Once that is fixed, the only thing left to fix will be the squeaky wipers (the bushings, I suspect). No big rains in the forcast, so I'll put this one off for a bit. -Mark Fuhriman '69 Fastback ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
