> That was my VW weekend. What did everyone else do? I did two things: 1. fix the battery area of the pan - Removed all rust flakes, prepared the metal and used POR-15 (excellent stuff). Instead of adding a new piece off another pan I decided to treat it with POR-15 and then smooth the area with either body filler or fibreglass and then paint POR-15 again. I decided to do this since the metal of the pan is still very strong and unrusted from underneath. 2, Went to a VW Vintage parts shop here in Sydney and was baffled at the prices of the parts. I showed the shop attendant the door seals that the PO had bought (he supplied these whit the car) and said that they are worthless because the rubber won't last. He quoted me about $100 for each side (and it seems that the price may not be that bad considering the prices quoted in previous posts.) He also quoted me $190 for all the window seals (each side), includes window scrappers (innner/outer), quarter light seals, etc. Is this a good price? He also quoted me $200 for TMI sea covers, $150 for a set of carpets.
