See, the thing is .. until very recently I didn't *have* a radio in the Fasty,
and I never really heard much of anything.  In my case, I suspect the rotor was
near the point of "ringing" when I put new pads on a couple of years ago and 
that driving with a stuck caliper took care of the rest.  The pads I took off
that side at the same time as the ringed rotor, while worn at an angle, still
had friction material -- even down where the split happened.

..which reminds me, I still need to install the replacement hose on that side
and do something about that caliper. =)
