When I got mine, it wouldn't go into reverse or 3rd. According to Bently, this was caused by bad cluthes in the tranny. Not knowing the car's history, I decided to have it rebuilt just to be sure, I guess I didn't have a choice. Getting the parts was hard, but it worked out, no problems snice, about 2000 m1. After the rebuild, you need to be sure to adjust the mechanism that controls the shift points, I forget the name now. Without then car running you won't be able to tell anything about the tranny. At least I wouldn't know. Thanks Gary... i will definitely check that... I don't know what I'll be able to tell without it running, but I'll see how smooth everything is when moving the lever. How many miles have you put on your transmission and what do you think of it? Is it as much of a tank (solid) as people claim? Have you had problems with it? I must say this is the thing I'm most worried about with this car... I love manuals, mostly for their ease of servicing, but I'm kind of happy this is an automatic so the wife can have something to drive if her car is in the shop (my daily driver is a stick)...
