Jerrod=> dies on idle. ... idle speed screws => ... they're almost all the way in, ... I'll have to start by making sure we're talking about the same things. There are two primary adjustments for each carb. Neither is on the carb itself. The idle adjustment screw is on the aft side of the throttle plate, facing you as you look into the engine bay, and it holds the throttle valve open for air at idle. The idle volume screw is also on the throttle plate, outboard and forward, almost under the accelerator pump and nearly out of sight. This regulates fuel flow at idle. Which of these screws are you adjusting? Do you have a carb manual? The Haynes is the most easily accessible. Were the carbs rebuilt with the engine? Were they set up by the rebuilder, or are we starting fresh? Be warned that tuning dual carbs by feel or by ear is highly unlikely to be at all successful unless you're a certified Porsche mechanic over 50. You'll need a carb balancer, a good manual and some experience to learn from.
