Re: [T3] Fuel injectors -- is this safe?

<x-flowed>1. You can cut off the OE crimp ferrule with a
hacksaw or a belt sander or grinder.

Is the "crimp ferrule" what Bently (Fuel system page 9) refers to as

7. Hose connection with screw clamp?

2. Would replacing the injector itself fix this?

3. Is it advisable to replace single injectors?

They did the right thing. It would be best if you looked at the hose barb
inside one of the ones that is already done, so you know what is inside there.
That way you won't cut into it accidentally.

I do this to every car I replace fuel hose on. You have to, because these hoses
are as old as any on the engine. You can cut off the OE crimp ferrule with a
hacksaw or a belt sander or grinder. Whichever way is easiest for you, just
make sure that you don't cut too deeply or you may ruin the injector.

I wouldn't replace the injector itself unless it develops some internal
problem.
