Is your car rusted in the rear wheel wells?
One fine Michigan morning after flooding rains, and after I'd discovered how bad the rust *really* was in our 1971 and removed all of the rear upholstery, I drove my daughter to preschool.
How surprised we were to find water raining down upon us after we drove through a large puddle in the road -- water from the rear wheels, thrown up through the (unupholstered) wheel wells, arcing over the seats, onto our heads.
It did make parking easier, though -- you could look through the holes in the passenger side to judge how close you were to the curb. <sniff>
Anyway, take a good hard look under your upholstery and around the rear seat mounts, and examine any cracks in the undercoating underneath. May you find solid metal, and then look elsewhere for the leak.
