tire pressure sounds low up front. does the shimmy occur when you hit a bump, are turning, or just going straight at that speed? hit a bump- check steering dampner turning - check torsion bar straight ahead - could mean wheels need to be balanced. there are also other issues-like tie rods...and something else i can't think of, but ia m not sure exactly how problems there would manifest themselves.... -----Original Message----- From: Peter Legault [mailto:one-pioneer@cox.net] Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2003 12:13 AM To: Type3 Subject: [T3] Front End Shmimy I have recently noticed a front-end shimmy @ about 55/60 mph. I donĂ¢t remember it ever before. I have not yet examined it or even the Bentley yet. Can anyone steer me (no pun intended) in the right direction on what to check first. It is a 73 square auto. The tire pressure is at about 18 to 19 psi. TIA Peter Legault --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
