[T3] Coil wire

Hello,

When working on my 71 fastback, I found a brown wire coming from the
coil that had been severed (doesn't look like on purpose, maybe caught
on something)

The car runs, albeit not well (it's been in storage for a while, and
won't idle unless I hold the gas pedal a little), does anybody know what
this wire goes to and if its my problem?
