I think my distributor might be installed incorrectly by the PO for the following reason (I could be wrong): The notch on my distributor for #1TDC is at about 10o'clock. If I were to hook up the spark plug wire for it, that would mean the ignition wire is going from far side of the distributor over to #1 plug. So basically what I end up with is the two left-hand connectors on the distributor cap to to the far right cylinders and the two right-hand connectors on the distributor cap go to the left side of the engine. Based on the valve adjustment I did earlier, I have no other reason to suspect that the notch at 10o'clock is in the wrong position, but I haven't seen any other Type3's where the ignition wires overlap like this...
