Anything I can do to find the problem? I would expect an off brand VR to work just fine, but perhaps not be as long term reliable as a Bosch. I have no real good data on this, I've just seen to many cars with charging system problems that were traced back to bad, but old, plain black box VRs. I'm sending you my generator FAQ.
