Time-Serts screw into the head and then a tool is used to finish the final threads, expanding the insert out into the metal of the head. These inserts should always stay IN the head. Personally, I don't care for the kind of inserts which come out with the spark plug. > Also, IIRC, to do the Heli correctly you have to remove the engine and drill > out the hole and insert the coil. The BEST way to install any insert is to remove the head, but many mechanics can install inserts in the car. This can be done if you're careful, but you need some experience and you don't really know how your finished job looks from inside the combustion chamber. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
