RE: [T3] Oil Leak!

I'd like to thank everybody for their help. Jim, the FAQ is a great source
of information. Once thing that escaped, is there a concensus on the best
replacement parts available? I was going to go to a local store that Greg
told me about that stocks air cooled parts, but wondered if there is another
source that I should get some extra sets from. With the possiblity of
continuing the leak or restricting oil flow I would want to make sure I'm
starting with the best available. Are there varying materials? Or am I
overthinking it? LOL Thanks again.

There aren't any symptoms much clearer than that. Your oil cooler seals are
leaking. Either someone put the wrong seals in there, or the oil cooler
bolts
have loosened up, or the seals are just old and hard and aren't sealing
anymore.

Regardless of the exact cause you will need to pull the generator,
distributor,
and left side injector runners (or left carb) and then remove the upper tin
on
that side so you can pull the oil cooler to see exactly what the problem is.
This is a fairly long job, but it's straightforward.

It's doubly important that you fix this, and fix it correctly. Installing
the
wrong seal in there can cause the passage to be blocked which would deprive
your engine of lubrication.

I'm sending you my oil cooler seal FAQ.
