1. Type 3s are different from Type 1s in many subtle ways, and that needs
respecting.
    Few VW mechanics really get this.
2. Get two Bentley Type 3 manuals, one for you, one for him. Study it.
3. Don't be tempted to do kludge fixes or arbitrarily deviate from stock;
     the parts are available -- ask the list first.
4. Expect more from Type 3 performance. These are good cars.
5. Leave the FI alone, it's not the problem.
