I Just bought a set of the new 34mm solex carb kit from CB for my newly acquired superbeetle. Knowing that they were based on the stock type 3 carbs, I bought them so I could later use them on my fasty. Now the problem is that I want to put them on my fasty first, then use the webers on my bug. I uploaded some pics of them to my website under the photos folder. Now they are perfect copys. But I think they could work as new replacements for worn out originals. They use the same linkage setup. The left carb has a small vacuum port while the right one has a larger one from the same area. Two fuel inlets facing inward on each carb top plus a large one facing out. Not sure what these are for but they have them. The linkage CB gives with the kit is almost like the original type 3 unit. The arms connect by ball ends but they connect on the other end of the shaft from where the throttle cable hooks up. One of the obvious differences is that these carbs lack the post to attach the original oil bath (or air cleaner in my case).
