Let me tell you, you're not the only one with this problem. If you do 
find some replacements, let me know.

I just wanted to mention what my brother used, when he installed type 3 
carbs in his 71 type 1. As a bicycle repairman (at the time), he used 
bicycle gear & brake cables to lever the carbs, as the stock type 3 
linkage will not work with he type 1 engine setup. I know that is not 
the answer for you and me, but just wantd to tell the story :-)
