In the UK we have it all - compulsory insurance, road tax (apart from '72 and earlier, so that's not bad for most of our Type 3s), massive fuel tax (US$4 a US gallon), annual inspection (officially costs about US$70; less at some garages), speed cameras everywhere, regular rain, but do you hear me complaining? Life can be pretty comfortable, and it's more tolerant here towards old vehicles that survive than the car's 'fatherland'. It was 55 F here yesterday and bright sun and blue sky - not too common in winter here. Dave.
