Re: [T3] Seeking opinions on rebuild

Just wondering, if you increase the displacement from 1584cc to 1678cc while
keeping the stock FI setup, won't you be running the engine a little lean?
How would the FI brain know you have increased the displacement?
The only thing I could think of doing is fooling the brain by changing the
injectors to ones with a bigger flow rate.

Subject: [T3] Seeking opinions on rebuild

> Some wishful thinking here. I want to give my '68 Squareback with 223K
miles a real serious makeover during the next year. This includes paint,
rebuilt trans (maybe 5 speed or close ratio 3rd/4th gears) and engine
rebuild. This will be a daily driver, no track time car. I'm looking for a
little more performance but with a good idle and be reliable. I want to
keep the stock FI but want to lean a bit to the darker side so I am
considering:

flywheels should be used for what I need. Is this a good combination? Can
rebuilt rods and cam be used with expectations of a long life? I live in
Sunnyvale, CA, (Bay Area) so if any of you have had any good experiences
with local shops please let me know.
