I don't really know how well the 009 should work in a T3 engine, but I see no reason why it should work any differently here than it does in a type 1. There is another problem that most people are not aware of and that is that the Bosch dists. Have an oiling channel machined into their stem. If you put a type1 dist in a type 3 engine you will end up with this channel facing a different direction. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that this will leave the dist shaft with less lubrication. In my book, the best dist for you type 3 is one that came from a type 3. You just need one that has an advance system that will work with your fuel system. If you have the OE carbs, I'd try to find a correct 67 dist.
