Yes, VERY different: bigger, longer, wider, taller, heavier, needs rear mount. Needs different cooling air intake treatment; you CAN'T just ignore this and expect the engine to survive for long. I think there is also an extra clearance problem with early type 3s that someone else will have to remind me of. Was the tin around the engine closer on early single carb cars?
