My apologies Jim, this Type IV engine was installed in a Porsche. I know, even without the change in aerodynamics/weight, 35 seems really high, but this was actually his average according to his post on the aircooledtech forums. He claims he got 44mpg on one 60-mile section of road. Damn. I remember reading on his site somewhere about the phenomenal gains in mpg to be had with the Type IV, but I can't seem to find the information there now.
