The D-Jet injectors actually do get virtually the whole 12V, but later systems
added a big resistor in series to share the voltage. The D-Jet injectors have
one side grounded all the time and power is supplied when needed by the big
switching transistors in the Brain. I'm not sure about the later systems.

It's true that without fuel pressure you can only listen for the "tick" as the
injector mechanism moves. If you see a small spark when you touch the wire to
the terminal, but you don't hear the "tick" then you know that the injector is
probably rusted up inside. SOMETIMES it is possible to loosen this from the
outlet end and get it working again, but your odds are not good that it will
ever work well.

I've done pressure tests by running a hose from the pressure test point of a
working engine and connecting this to an injector that I wanted to test. Use
great care if doing this, because you'll be spraying gasoline and making sparks
at the same time. Needless to say, don't do this indoors, or near your car.
