My 69 FI 1600 doesn't start easily. When I've stopped after driving about 30 minutes or so; I leave it parked for about 5 minutes and when I restart I have to depress the gas pedal about 3/4 of the way down, or pump it to get it started. I was at the local junkyard yesterday and picked up some parts just for kicks. I got a pressure sending unit (among other things). It's out of a later car and wasn't identical to mine, but being inquisitive I put it in my car. It appears to give my car more power, but I've noticed the problem hasn't gone away. Also, I don't know if I exacerbated any problems, but the gas mileage seems to have dropped. Any suggestions?
