Lights and relays won't be hurt by the backwards battery, nor will the generator or the voltage regulator. I would worry about the turn signal relay and the radio, anything with transistors in it. It is POSSIBLE that you have polarized your generator backwards and will have to repolarize it. Here's how to check: Put a voltmeter across your battery and measure its voltage. Start up the car. As you raise the rpms the voltage should go UP to the regulating voltage. If the voltage goes DOWN, you will need to repolarize. Write back for instructions if this is necessary.
