I can attest to the difference a
genuine Bosch regulator makes. My Fasty, with a freshly
rebuilt generator, charged, albeit a very weak 13.6
volts at 2000rpm. I had installed a brand new generic
brand VR earlier and couldn't possibly understand
why my charging voltage was so low. I bought one of
the new solid state Bosch VR's off of e-Bay here a
while back, installed it and up my charging voltage
went, to 14.4 @ 2000rpm. Problem solved. Just goes to
show, that in most cases, you just can't beat genuine
Bosch quality. "New" does not always mean quality.
