Hey folks, so let me get clear on this: Ive got a fine mesh screen in the outlet of my gas tank, one equally as fine filter in each of my Weber carbs, I had a coarser wire mesh filter in my old fuel pump (but that may have changed when I got a new pump, I'll have to check) and I was running an in-line automotive glass bodied filter just before the pump. I'd *really* like to leave out the in-line filter, which is by far the coarsest of them all. It's not very good looking there, I've always been leary of the fire potential of having another engine bay connection and to be honest, I've never seen it trap anything. Is it necessary to run the filter there or am I asking for trouble by giving it the heave-ho? Thanks, David Walters '73 1600 L Notchback S.
