Re: [T3] oil temp (and pressure)

Hey guys-

Well, from memory I can tell you that Shad had some issues with low oil
pressure at idle when warm and we solved them by replacing the shadeck
(sp?) aluminum body oil pump with a cast iron pump which we blueprinted
till we were blue in the face (pun not intended). Oil pressure is no
longer a problem, regardless of rpm. With oil temps over 200F we often
see pressures over 60 psi at rpms as low as 2k rpm (if my memory serves
correctly). Shad- chime in here and clarify those numbers for me.

Shad and I have done lots of research and testing on oil filters and we
both would have to agree that the PureOne oil filter has very good
filtration and a very high quality of manufacture, but we have as of
late played around with K&N's oil filters and found them to be superior
in many respects. (http://www.knfilters.com/oilfilter.htm) They claim
550 psi burst strength, synthetic media filter, anti-drainback valve,
rolled threads (kinda overkill here), and a leak-proof double rolled
seam. Best of all, the K&N filter filters as well as PureOne and its
competitors. Only drawback here is the $9.00 price tag.

Another filter of equal quality (and of equal price) is the Mobil 1
filter. Read about it here:
