<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hello all, After reading Shad's last reply about oil and head temps I began wondering about which sensors are the most accurate and important to have in our Type 3's. Sounds like Shad is somewhat of an expert on the subject. Maybe he could share with us the placement and installation methods he uses on his engines. I'm sure all of us would breath easier with a small instrument cluster slung under our dashes with accurate readings from our engine compartments. I would love to hear from anyone with experience on sensor types and placements. Specifically: 1. Where is the best place to install an oil temperature sensor and where can we get the best type? 2. What types of oil coolers or sumps are the most effective at reducing oil temperature? 3. What is the best way to read head temps? 4. Where/how do you tap into the oil system to tee off to an external oil cooler? 5. Any recommended modifications to cooling air supply or stock oil thermostat setups? Pretty general questions I know, but maybe we can work some of these out together.
