6V batteries have 3 cell caps, 12Vs have 6.

This just applies to aux heater booster fans which were only installed as 
aftermarket items. Most of our cars don't have any such things. The OE 
heater fan is the same fan that cools the engine. It's mounted on the rear end 
of the crankshaft and isn't electric.
