<x-charset iso-8859-1>another idea.. carb related. Are you sure there isnt some way that that carb isnt dumping gas in there... crack, missing brass elbow or something? Id expect this to also affect #4 but remember how Toby was popping? he was running WAY too rich and I think the the gas wasnt burning fully and finishing its burn in the muffler. This IS a stumper... good luck.
