<x-charset iso-8859-1>GregM=> Conventional Wisdom (heh) doesn't seem to => care one whit about a hole if you call it a timing hole, => but folks get all freaked out if you say that a hole or => two is for an air conditioner... I won't go without my plug either, and I keep a spare around as well. But leaving that aside, I expect there's a substantial difference between an open hole and a hole with a belt moving through it. The belt will create more airflow through the hole, won't it? And so a substantially greater relative effect. OTOH, it doesn't seem like it would be a huge deal to build a shroud for a compressor similar to the generator arrangement.
