First suggestion is that SOMEBODY needs a torque wrench. ;-) If you mean that one of the 8mm breather stand nuts has pulled out then it must have been tightened way too much. All these studs into the case just get 14 lb-ft of torque. It's quite unusual to pull out any of the 8mm studs that are set in the case. If this is the right nut, I think you can reach the underside of that tapped hole thru the breather port. You should be able to position a rag down that hole so that it catches all the shavings that fall down, then CAREFULLY pull the rag back up when you're done.
