Or perhaps, the *torque* mounts... I have Helicoiled 4-5 studs already while rebuilding my 1600, but this one has me stumped. It's the oil filler housing that bolts up to the fan, the stud in the upper left-while facing the front of the car- has sucked out, which would explain the oil mess on top of everything before I pulled her apart. The stud hole seems to go all the way down into the case, when I pressurize the case through one of the oil lines, I get positive pressure out the stud hole. Here's the question-is there anyway to drill and tap that hole for a Helicoil without shavings falling into the case? I have considered tipping it up on the flywheel and putting air pressure on it again, ala Berg, but that might be a last resort. Any suggestions? Thanks before hand, here's a link that may give you all an idea what I mean. David Walters '73 1600 L Notchback S.
