There is the late one that you need. This one was also used in beetles and
type 4s. It sounds like this is what you need and what you have. OE ones
wer black, but all the replacements i've ever seen were red.
The mid one is a lot like the late one, but has a smaller hole and is thicker.
These are always black.
The adapter one that was never used in production but is used to adapt an
early case to a late cooler, etc. These are always green
There might also be a very early one used in type 3s that had a right angle
adapter with a beetle cooler. This one might be the same as a 40 HP beetle.
I've never seen one of these setups. This one probably does NOT have the
center flange that the other three have.
