The plunger in that one should be positioned with the hole facing down. That's how you have it now, right? In spite of its name, the oil breather just handles crankcase vapor, and a bit of oil mist. The oil leaking from the rear of your engine wouldn't have anything to do with oil pressure, but it may have something to do with crankcase vapor pressure, which should be zero. OTOH, the oil spray MIGHT be caused by a loose pulley/fan bolt. Have you checked yours?
