<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hello- > 31mpg on the trip home while driving through the high rockies in Colorado... > Its amazing how little power I had at 11K feet. I still need to write up on > the altitude driving. I *can* get 30mpg in my Fastback at "regular" highway speeds, and that's when I'm sloshing around 2615cc of displacement in a heavier-than-stock car with *slightly* underinflated tires (ah, grippy curves are fun). I also can get 24-25mpg at a sustained 85-90mph :-). But, with my heavy foot in the stoplight-ridden (sp?) city, I'm lucky to see 15mpg. Damned heavy foot :-). My FI system is MAP-based, and therefore altitude-invariant. So far I've had it over 12000ft - no power problem there, but it was funny to see what the laptop told me the barometric pressure was up there! I was going to hit 14110ft on Pikes Peak, but ran out of time on my return trip :-(.
